
Sherry L. Adams, MBA, PMP

Sherry began her USACE career in 1985 while attending Marshall University where she graduated in 1988 with a Bachelors in Business Management (BBA). She continued her permanent career with the Huntington District in 1988. Sherry was awarded a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in 1993. She continued her career in Human Resources for 10 years before moving into Project Management and Customer Outreach. Sherry is currently assigned to the Planning, Programs, and Project Management Division, in the Huntington District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Her expertise in Program, Project Management, and Earned Value Management has provided her an opportunity to support USACE, HQ working with the Department of Veterans Affairs Program and the Civil Works FY18 Emergency Supplemental Program leading the implementation of Earned Value Management throughout the nation. She has worked in Project Management for over 20 years both as a Program Analyst and a Project Manager for projects in the feasibility study, design and construction phases within the Civil Works process. Sherry has recently been the International and Interagency Support Program Manager, the DOE NNSA Program Manager for the Y-12, Uranium Processing Facility, in Oak Ridge, TN program and also served as the National Earned Value Management (EVM) Project Manager. As the National PM for the EVM initiative she led a team evaluating the benefits of implementing EVM within the USACE.
Sherry has been with the Huntington District for over 30 years working in several disciplines i.e., project manager, financial analyst, customer outreach coordinator, and human resources specialist. She holds a Project Management Professional Certificate (PMP) from Project Management Institute (PMI) and a member of PMI. She also became the PMI Education Foundation (PMIEF) Chapter Liaison in 2017. She also volunteered to work with the West Virginia Division of Education in developing Project Management curriculum for their secondary education program. In the past few years Sherry Adams has presented numerous workshops and training courses on Project Management and Earned Value Management. She presented at the EVM World 2018 in Ft. Lauderdale in May 2018 and at the EVM Practitioners' Forum in Washington, DC in August 2018.
