WV/OV Chapter is pleased to announce a virtual examination preparation class for the Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification, to be conducted via web-based teleconference over 4 nights in January (22-23, 29-30), 2 hours per night (6:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT). The cost for this first-ever (in West Virginia) exam prep class is a nominal amount of $100. (Note that this fee does not include study materials; see below for separate ordering details.)
PMI's description of the PgMP certification (found at https://www.pmi.org/certifications/types/program-management-pgmp) asserts that the certification "...is a visible sign of your advanced experience and skill and gives you a distinct advantage in employment and promotion."
The 8 hours of instruction to be provided will qualify for up to 8 PDU's of credit in the Technical Project Management talent triangle area.
The instructor for this class is Jennifer Young Baker, MSPM, PfMP, PgMP, PMP, ITIL, MBB and BRMP. Jennifer is a curriculum developer and adjunct faculty member at the University of Southern California and has been managing projects, programs, portfolios and PMOs for nearly 30 years for Fortune 500 companies in many different industry sectors. She is currently the manager of the Customer Services IoT Program at United Rentals. As an educator, she has also taught at Northeastern, Georgetown, and Wake Forest Universities and has been a guest lecturer at several other institutions. Working with Dr. Ginger Levin, she was a contributing author to Dr. Levin’s 2014 compilation, “Portfolio Management: A Strategic Approach”. Within PMI, she is currently serving as the Region Mentor for the Mid-Atlantic States (Region 5). In 2015, PMI Metrolina won Chapter of the Year during her tenure as President of the chapter. Jennifer was in the first Masters of Project Management Class at Northeastern University and also holds PMP, PgMP, PfMP, ITIL, BRMP and SSMBB certifications. She had the honor of graduating from the PMI Leadership Institute Master Class in 2015. She is also very actively involved in two other non-profit organizations. She lives in the Lake Norman area of North Carolina with her husband Ken and two Yorkies (George Jr. and Frankie).
