PMI Chapter Professional Development Days offer the convenient opportunity to expand your project management skill set, and (for those with active certifications) collect professional development units (PDUs) that contribute significantly to your certification renewal strategy.

The WV/OV PMI Chapter offers "Intermediate Agile Essentials", presented by Alan Zucker of Project Management Essentials, on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 6-7, 2019, at the clubhouse of the Little Creek Golf Course in South Charleston, WV.  This 2-day-long event will earn 14 PDU's in the PMI Talent Triangle's Technical category for recertification.

Cost for the event is $900; however, until June 14, 2019, an "early bird" discount of $50 applies, reducing the cost to only $850!  This price includes all workshop handouts, morning and afternoon refreshments, and a lunchtime buffet.

Tuesday and Wednesday, August 6-7, 2019 – 8:30 am – 4:30 pm

Intermediate Agile Essentials is a two-day course that will provide participants with comprehensive training on Agile and Scrum best practices.  The course incorporates components of Scrum Alliance’s Certified Scrum Master (CSM®), Certified Product Owner (CSPO®) course outline and also includes elements of Lean and Kanban training. 

In addition to the formal lecture and presentations, attendees will participate in exercises that demonstrate and reinforce the concepts taught in class.

Intended audience:  Both business and technology professionals who want to understand the transformational opportunities of Agile will benefit from this course, including:

  • Managers and organization leaders
  • Business analysts, subject matter experts, and product owners
  • Project managers and ScrumMasters
  • Project and development team members

Learning objectives: At the end of this course, participants will:

  • Appreciate the values and principles of the Agile Manifesto
  • Recognize the key components Scrum roles, activities, and artifacts,
  • Understand how Agile uses a product driven approach, and
  • Know how to use Kanban boards to manage the flow of work.

Certification

Participant will receive a certificate of completion from Project Management Essentials.  Participants will be eligible to claim:

  • Project Management Institute: 14 Technical PDUs
  • Scrum Alliance: 14 Category C.1 (Training outside of Scrum Alliance) SEUs

Cancellation: If there are not at least 10 participants by close of registration, the workshop will be cancelled.  In the event of cancellation, a full refund will be issued.

Alan Zucker, PMP

Project Management Essentials

Founding Principal

Alan Zucker has over 25-years of experience working in Fortune 100 companies leading projects and large technology organizations.  He has delivered thousands of successful projects and major strategic initiatives. 

As a leader, Alan has transformed organizations.  He led an Agile transformation that delivered significant, measurable benefits to the enterprise.

In 2016, he founded Project Management Essentials to provide training and advisory services. His areas of expertise are project management, Agile transformation, and leadership.  He is a keynote speaker and provides customized training to his clients.  He is also an Adjunct College Instructor. 

Alan demonstrates his thought leadership on management, project management and Agile transformations in his monthly articles. These articles are available on the Project Management Essentials website as well as LinkedIn and several industry sites. 

Alan received his undergraduate degree from The George Washington University and a master’s degree in economics from the University of Maryland.  He holds a master’s certificate in IT Project Management from the George Washington University and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Agile Professional (ACP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI).  He also holds Agile certifications as a Scrum Master (CSM) and Scale Agilist (SAFe 4.0 SA).  He plans to receive his Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM) and Certified Scrum Professional (CSP).
