Diversity in Project Leadership: The Microagressions Discussion

Project leaders have a lot to focus on in this new decade. How do you take time to ensure you and your project teams are taking care of your mental wealth? This session will walk you through some of the key indications of micro aggressions so that you can proactively mitigate the impact, along with some key tips and tricks to implement immediately. Expect to walk out with ideas on how to gain/maintain some sense of sanity in the stressful world of leading and supporting diverse projects.

Sherry James, PMP

Keynote Speaker, Author, Mentor, and Mother

Sherry James, PMP is a keynote speaker, author, mentor, and mother based in the DFW area. Ms. James has worked with multiple Fortune 100 and 500 companies over the last 30 years through her roles in the leadership of the project management offices (PMO), serving on the board of directors for PMI and technology innovation. Sherry is dedicated to facilitating the tough conversation about mental wealth and suicide prevention as well as ending the stigma of mental health in the workplace and in the global community. Currently, she is working on her latest initiative, The Creating Mental Wealth Project, which offers courses for those as young as Kindergarten to C-level executives. The “Creating Mental Wealth Show w/Sherry James"; has recently finished filming with guests that include 4x NBA champion, John Salley. Her keynote presentation in June of 22: “The Sankofa Griot: Using Storytelling to Break Generational Curses,” garnered stunning reviews from both the live and remote audiences. With the unique background of personal trauma, decades of leadership training development and facilitation, experience working as a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and her focus on teaching the world to embrace the idea of #HealingOutLoud, she is able to add value to any stage/panel that she is on. Her non-profit organization, 2020 Lives Changed, Inc. is powered by the Phoenix Speaks, Inc. work which focuses on being the catalyst for those impacted by the issues that have arisen during these unprecedented times. James will be releasing her debut novel “After The Suicide: Leading with Love and Light” soon.
